Overalls Weekly – 07/03/2020

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

The Overalls wish you and yours a happy and safe Independence Day.

Independence Day (colloquially the Fourth of July or July 4) is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States, on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject (and subordinate) to the monarch of Britain, King George III, and were now united, free, and independent states. The Congress had voted to declare independence two days earlier, on July 2, but it was not declared until July 4.

DANCING UPDATE!

Unfortunately, we have nothing new to report.  We still have not been given the OK to dance at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Royer Park but they have begun opening the hall for meetings for the veterans.  That means we are one step closer to dancing.  In the mean time we, your board, are discussing what steps and precautions we need to take to begin dancing again.  We are also making plans for a new dancer class to start again.

If you need any assistance or hear of any of our members becoming ill or having problems, please don’t hesitate to let us know! Our phone number is 916-573-0228. And if you haven’t heard, the most recent guidance from the Placer County Health Officer is to wear a cloth face covering if you go out, not so much for your protection, but for the protection of others. They have found that you can spread the virus before you have any symptoms. Stay home and stay safe!

ALTERNATIVES FOR SQUARE DANCING AT HOME!

While we continue to shelter at home there are a few unique ways we can do some square dancing at home.  Check out the following links and let us know what you think.
