Overalls Weekly – 04/11/2019
“AND NOW IT’S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE!”
Join the Overalls and Buttons ‘N’ Bows as we say “Goodbye” to the Roberts family on Thursday, May 2nd. As you know Jet, Sylvia and Stella will be moving out of the state soon. They have meant so much to us and to square dancing in the Sacramento region and we will miss them a lot. The format for the night will be:
- 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Alternating Plus & New Dancer Dancing
- 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Alternating Plus & New Dancer Class
- 9:00 – 9:30 p.m. High Energy Plus—No Holds Barred!
Flyer: 2019-05 Time to say Goodbye
OVERALLS NEW DANCER CLASS CLOTHES CLOSET
Our goal for our current new dancer class is to have them ready to attend our Luau dance in May. It would be great if (for those who want to) they had square dance clothes to wear for the dance. We want to help so we will be having a clothes closet for all of our current new dancers on April 18th. Please go through your closets and consider donating your unwanted and gently experienced square dance clothing for our current new dancers. I promise you wont regret you did.
WONDERFUL SNACKS!
Every week we have so many wonderful snacks and we have you to thank for them. You are always so kind and generous. We may not always say it but we always appreciate it. Thank you!
UPCOMING PARKING LOT ISSUE AT ROYER PARK
The contractor will begin building the retaining walls near the parking lot. This involves moving a lot of materials onto the site. We have worked with the contractor to minimize the impact to the parking lot by storing some materials elsewhere (at additional cost to the project), but it will still result in reducing the number of available spaces in the lot to about 15 spaces. This will begin March 4 and continue through April 26.
Please direct any questions to Mike Dour, City of Roseville, mdour@roseville.ca.us.
OVERALLS LUAU DANCE
Our next dance is our Overalls Luau Dance. The dance will be here at Royer Park on Saturday, May 18th. Pre-rounds with Kevin Klein from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm followed by Kip Garvey calling alternating New Dancer and Plus. We are going to have a great time. You wont want to miss it!
SQUARE DANCE DEMO
We have been invited to perform at a retirement home in Roseville on Tuesday, April 30. We will start with lunch at 12:30 followed by square dancing around 1:30 PM.
Dance Level: Main Stream mixed with some Plus
More details will be provided to the square dancers who sign up to provide this entertainment. Remember, if you sign up, you are required to show up.
Please contact me to sign up as soon as possible. I have to give a headcount for lunch. If you have any questions, I can be reached by email: jan_warren925@yahoo.com or call 916-797-1558-home or 916-716-4641–mobile
